Which scanner should I buy?

Hi everybody!

I'm interested in buying a scanner, but I don't know much about those... so I was wondering if anyone can tell me which attributes should I be looking for before buying one or which models do you recomend. I would like to use it not only for scan covers

, also to scan photos. So, what do you think?

I have an Epson Perfection 4870 Photo and absolutely love it!

i have one that's dying a slow death...i'll let you know which one i buy. but for the record, a lot of times, any scanner will do, it's the settings you give the scanner that make the nice scans

I have an Epson Perfedtion 3170 Photo. I would have gotten a cheaper one, but this one scans slides and negatives that I wanted at the time.
