Lately I've been really busy, so I've been sitting on covers for several days before posting them. Here is the question I'm posing to all members here. You have a couple choices....so please vote above, and feel free to comment on what you selected. thanks guys.
** as for clean, I'm referring to spending more amounts of time to ensure there are no dust speckles, colors are as matched as i can tell, that kind of stuff. The covers i'm given are not in the best quality sometimes, so I do my best to make sure no one knows that. ** Last edited by djkingsyze : 10-17-2007 at 02:58 PM. |

What kind of clean up do you normally do to the cover? I've noticed that speed is of the essence with new games. If you are the first to get a cover up, you'll get a boost in traffic. If you are last, despite having the best looking version, nobody cares.
That said, isn't the focus preservation of art? I'd say quality matters the most. |

Take your time and clean up the covers, as you are doing now, if thats not too much to ask bud?
I think your doing a brilliant job and you get covers on here in no time at all, i wouldnt want rushed scans just so we can download them hours earlier! Keep up the good work mate, seriously, you do a very good job at the moment ![]() |

Definitely take your time...yes, like SB said, the quicker you get them, the more traffic you get. But even then, I'd rather have a nice, high-quality scan (like you always do), than worry about waiting a few extra days or even a week or more if necessary. As far as I am concerned, you do more than enough as is, and you do an amazing job already. So keep up the good work, and you really have no idea how much I appreciate what you're doing here. Thanks again...and again...

You would like to get them out as fast as you can, but you want them looking as best as you can, nothing beats a good quality. So its bang on in the middle for me...do what your doing at the mo, as if you take too long a poorer quality one may get released before yours too...maybe.
If you ask me you do a great job as it is, and are pretty quick too. |

I said take your time. I don't think traffic is of huge concern. The reason I say that is because even if you are the first one to post (which most of the time you are), it's going to get leeched and put up on another site.
Secondly, there is no advertising going on saying you have a cover up. People are going to come here regardless to check what, if anything, new has been posted. If you look at traffic to this site (in general) it's pretty steady on an increase. My personal opinion thinks it's because not only do we get covers up, but they are of good quality. Bottom line, people are going to keep coming here because the only way to find out if we have new covers, is to search for themselves. Unless there is a new cover hotline out there I don't know about ![]() |

I think you are doing an excellent job until now, always uploading wonderful scans. I don't mind waiting a few more days, I'm very patient. But, remember this: don't waste to much time retouching scans, instead you should take some time for yourself and your family. The scans until now are very good. I like myself clear a little here and fix some colors... but that's the way I am, a freaking perfectionist (it's that the word?
). So, what I'm trying to say is let us (and the leechers...) do the hard and dirty work and save yourself some time to spend with the ones you love. Relax... the scans you do are awesome anyway . |

I say go for quality. This doesn't mean that you have to work on a cover for a week to get it perfect.
I just clean my cover before scanning and try to keep my scanner clean, after that I just scan the cover with no corrections and no filters at all (a part from cropping). Quick and effective. The longest part of the scanning is connecting the usb cable to the pc :P |

I always touch up my scans before I save em and upload em. Now I dont spend an hour on it just getting most noticable specs off and such. If they want it done more they can do it themselves. Honestly when ya print them you wont even seem most of the dust specs.

An excellent scan will make every byte that you spent on your HD worths a lot.And of course you will gain (it's my opinion) the better reward that you can win in this job, the respect of the leechers.
But I don't see reason of spent much time with little details 'cause scan an image is just like copy an CD, it's work like the original but isn't it at all.Last edited by diow : 02-12-2008 at 05:32 PM. |
